The truth behind packaged milk: from dairy to plant-based milks

Packaged milk can have several potential health drawbacks:

  1. Added Sugars: Some packaged milks, especially flavored varieties, contain added sugars, which can contribute to weight gain, diabetes, and other health issues.

  2. Preservatives and Additives: To extend shelf life, packaged milks often contain preservatives and additives, which may not be beneficial for health.

  3. Saturated Fat and Cholesterol: Packaged dairy milk can be high in saturated fat and cholesterol, which are linked to heart disease.

  4. Hormones and Antibiotics: Some packaged milks may contain residues of hormones and antibiotics used in dairy farming, which can have various health implications.

  5. Nutrient Loss: The processing of milk can lead to the loss of some nutrients, although many packaged milks are fortified to compensate for this.

During this workshop we made our own milks! We showed how easy it is to make your own nut milks, from nuts, seeds or grains even! Its healthy, all natural, no additives and more importantly, full of nutrients & delicious!
